jaune

I went shopping for prizes for some birthdays coming up, and I don’t know if the rare Bay Area heat made me delirious or what, but I accidentally came home with this scent for me. I couldn’t decide between that and this, ideally both and worn together. Delicious. Jaune smells like a childhood moment I can’t quite remember.

In other news I’m ticking down the days until Vermont – less than a month! & a freelance design job just came up that I am crazy excited about tackling.

How are your solstices going? Everything here feels full, vibrant, and bountiful. Like the Empress tarot card ~
…know also that the perfectly abundant world of the Empress is always free for you to enjoy. Even if you know that you have to go back to the “real world” eventually, a vacation from the hectic and artificial life that most people live these days will certainly be welcome. Spend some time outdoors, in the fresh air, enjoying every aspect of creation. And then, when you go back to where you were, the Empress’ creative power and beauty will remain to inspire you and give you power. Strengthen your innate connection with the Earth’s creativity and you will, by association, strengthen your own creative power. Cultivate your creativity and plants the seeds of a bountiful harvest.

  1. I spent my solstice at work and then in class all night, taking quizzes and tests. I’m feeling so apart from nature lately. I really need to take a break and stick my bare feet in some grass.

  2. not to rub it in, karren, but my solstice felt really very Empress-y. went out into the woods with a dear friend. we both had our birthday recently, and we did a little solstice/birthday-ritual. afterwards, we had some tea we brought with us in a flask and some raspberry cakes. the open spot where we were is so beautiful – if it didn’t feel so strange to say it, I’d say it feels like a nature-church :)

    1. It’ll be something TERRIBLE and then I’ll never be able to wear it again. I did have friends with a bee-hive business… (it smells very honey-ish. for some reason in my head when i think “smell” and “honey” it’s in french. like it can only be honey in english if you’re eating it.)

or bears will eat me because i smell like honey.

  3. Sounds like a beautiful scent. Captain Blankenship! hee hee

Just saw a bear around these parts! The Empress must have been at work lst night, as it was spent wandering around a huge rose garden full of mostly buds, cooing at ducklings, dreaming of placing foxglove hats on tiny elves, finding tallest spiky flowers and people watching/patio/drinks with a little afterglow blending into today. Bring on Summer!

  4. Ooh, lovely! My favorite scents are spicier scents – I love that this has cedarwood and ginger in it along with the flowers and orange. It sounds amazing! It’s been raining here in Massachusetts so no fun summertime stuff for me. Glad things are going well for you!

  5. That scent sounds delicious! I just started wearing a combination of jasmine, vetiver and ginger that to me is the essence of languid woodsy summer. Yesterday I made blueberry-ginger muffins and a big pitcher of blueberry lemonade for a solstice party out on an organic farm where there is zero light pollution and the stars were just incredible. Bluegrass band, campfires, lots of happy people – lovely lovely solstice times.
