Beach bound with the perfect Victorian mystery novel. Finds on the way: a white porcelain vase, handprinted fabric in dusty pink, snowy antique tablecloths and napkins, sunshine & wisping fog, winding roads.
p.s. are you on Instagram? Find me there!
I am seriously digging those sunglasses.
i want this saturday! also, i want to know more about the victorian mystery novel, is it “the seance” book in your bag?
Yes! Just added a link. So good.
Oh, I really, really liked The Seance! I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Have you read the other book he’s written – Ghost Writer (I think)? Also…Little, Big by John Crowley? If you have not read it already, you may enjoy this one. It is strange and funny and lovely.
Yes, I have read all those things! I loved the Seance – was totally enthralled. Sean was laughing at me because when we got home I was parked on the couch with it unable to move. I liked Ghost Writer too but not quite as much! I sent it onward to Angel.
Little, Big is one of my faves of all time & I keep thinking I need to reread it again, that’s right, NEED. So this is another sign!
OK – I am totally going to be a pushy so-n-so…but if you *do* ever decide to open up a little shop and sell prints of your dazzling photos …(I am recalling the ones from your honeymoon…I mean the landscape and cottages &etc…not anything else you might have done on your honeymoon! Ahem.) But if you ever do that, you must must include that gorgeous photo of the shimmering waves against the rocks up there. It is really quite beautiful!
Oh yes. I want to jump into that photo. I want it on my desktop right now as a reminder and a hope.
YOUR GLASSES. EPIC. I am in love. Where did you find them?
thanks! they’re kala: http://www.mossoptical.com/eyeglass_collections/kala_eyeglasses/index.php
handmade in the usa, which is hard to find!
The quote on the bag, is that Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill?” So wonderful if it is !
yes! from fieldguided!

(yes, now i want a pink printed one, too)
& i especially like it because I have a silver mt zion lyric tattooed on me “messy hearts made of thunder” & also because S and I sing Kate Bush at each other a lot and it was one of the first things we bonded over.
i LOVE those yellow sunglasses.
Everything, everthing beautiful. You, beautiful.
Happy you have so much loveliness around you.
Adding book to list. Thank you and he for keeping
me loaded up with fanciful escape hatches, for reading
and seeing. Miss you both and want nectarine ice cream
party where all our grumpy orange cats (and one black
and one brown) are invited! That’s what.
