It’s been over a month since we spent a 3 day weekend in Maine & I’m just putting up photos now. Yes. Ok. It’s a nice reminder that outside of the hectic craziness that is my job, summer exists.
We went to Montreal last weekend and have been trying to be better about exploring New England and taking quick & inexpensive trips (Montreal was only 1/2 a tank of gas!), but on the weekends we mostly just want to be in our house. Sad but true! Any New Englanders out there have recommendations? We’ll do a day trip back to the seaside before the summer is out, at least. I need my ocean times!
The photos in this post are all Wiscasset – Damariscotta – Rockland area.
Love love love Maine. Your photos capture it perfectly, and now I’m going to sit here sighing and wishing I was there right now!
I really need to get myself to the East coast sometime soon, Maine looks gorgeous!!
Yes you do!
these photos — like so many others on your site — are gorgeous and make me wish i were in maine right now! i truly wish i had a seashore to take a day trip to! xo kat
Oh my goodness, these are beautiful holidays. I wish New England was only a tank or so of gas away from New Zealand! Good to keep this in mind for my next American holiday plans, though…
So beautiful. Seeing all this now makes me want to go back for another vacation to Bar Harbor.
We went to Rockland / Owl’s Head Maine for our Honey Moon and we loved it there. It was so quiet in March too.
We just spent 3 days in Hampton Beach and kind of hated a lot about that place. (the ocean was grand, like always, but the vibe is so not like us.) We drove around and found that Rye, and North Hampton looked much more quiet and classy.. Don’t know if it’s as easy to rent a cabin / house or stay in those towns.
