Wanderlust

My Sagittarian travel itch has been fueled by an unlikely source lately – the people I follow on Instagram! Some of the top spots on my travel list are being visited, and I’m feeling both jealous and inspired to save up some cash and plan some trips! Follow these lovelies on Instagram for some armchair travel magic.

Jamie from From Me To You is in Morocco:

Daniel from Manhattan Nest is in Cannes, but my favorite was when he visited Egypt:

Both Ginny and Robyn are in Savannah, GA – possibly a little more attainable for me:

Lilie Green of is zooming around the south of France:

Where are the top spots on your list? Have you been to any of the places above, and do you recommend any “do not miss” places? One of my favorite trips ever was driving from Barcelona to Nice – I may need to do that one again!

  1. I am filled with the travel bug and determined to make it happen this summer. I want to roadtrip to the bottom of California. Camp on the Maggie Islands. Spend months in Stockholm. And visit Argentina!

    1. We have summer trips planned, but they’re small – still, good to get out! The coast of Maine, back to Cape Cod, Montreal, Quebec City…tiny drives!

  2. Barcelona to Toulouse was great too! So let me add a couple excursion to your Barcelona – Nice redux: Carcassonne and the chateaux cathares are pure magic…
I am dreaming of New Orleans, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan… And to go back to Jersey and Guernsey. None of these trips are on the cards anytime soon, though I can’t complain because I’ll be visiting friends and family in Bretagne and Paris this summer. Faraway families tend to eat up the pitiful amount of vacation time one gets in the US!

  3. Favourite topic ever! Aw, these photos are dreamy.

Places I would go back to in a second: The East Cape in Baja, various Thai islands, jungley Yelapa, B.C. gulf islands, diving craziness in the Perhentian islands, soaking at Breitenbush, street food insanity in Penang, feeling the spirits in Sumatra, lounging in the South of France, Spa Deco in Amsterdam and hilltribe wonders of Laos (the only landlocked country of the bunch!).

Future dream locations: Iceland, Morocco, Vietnam, The Cook Islands, Zanzibar, La Grande Mosquee in Paris, street food in Singapore, somewhere to see the Northern lights and on and on…

    1. So many places! Amazing. I loved La Grande Mosquee in Paris, a photo I took while there was my iphone wallpaper until recently. So calming.

  4. I would love to see Morocco. It’s one of those places that completely fascinates me but kinda frightens me as well because I know so little about it.

I’ll be heading out on vacation in just over one week! Zach and I are going to Yosemite National Park :)

  5. I am woefully under-traveled. I’ve only left the continent once in the last 15 years or so. :( I’ve covered a lot of the US and Canada, though. Anywho, I actually do really want to go back to Cambodia and Vietnam, but visit other locations than the ones I’ve been to already, plus also incorporate Laos and Thailand into the trip.

Future dream places: Portugal (Lisbon, obviously, but maybe more remote coastal parts), Iceland, Morocco, obviously the big European places. But I also just would love to spend a whole week walking around, eating and napping either in Cinque Terre or Dubrovnik.

    1. Do you never go back to Russia? You came here when you were 10, yes?

I really want to do the Eastern Europe tour. And Ljubljana! For the dragon bridge.

      1. I still haven’t gone back in almost 20 years :( I wanna cryyyyy. It’s complicated. I want to go, but I’m kind of scared it’ll be so different it’ll ruin all my nostalgic memories of it.

  6. My travel lust is growing stronger and stronger but right now with funds low and my husband entering his busy season of work, there’s just not much opportunity on the horizon. I’m hoping Winnepeg might happen soon, even though it’s not quite cultural adventure I’m seeking.

I’ve always wanted to go all over the mainland of Europe, but suddenly I’m really lusting for Scandinavia.

  7. I just got home from a week in Norfolk, U.K., and my husband and I are off to Barcelona for three days in June (I won my flight, on Facebook of all things) We try to spend 5 or 6 weeks a year (vacation days in the Netherlands are very generous, especially when you’ve been at the same job for decades, as B. has) somewhere in Southeast Asia. This past January that was Cambodia, with the start and finish in Saigon. We’re planning a trip to Vancouver, as our daughter is now living there, but we’ll have to save up for that, as it looks to be a lot pricier than the $30 a day for food and accommodation that we generally spend in Asia…
I had no Instagram at the start of the year, but do now, so I’m looking forward to the instantaneous sharing. I usually have to wait for my films to be developed. :-)

  8. I just came back from a trip (to Vermont, actually!), and my wanderlust is twitching like mad. I want to take a million road trips through the States, and I really want to go to Finland.

    1. Where did you go in Vermont?! It’s nice moving back because there are so many places I haven’t seen here since I’ve lived away for almost 20 years!
